About Me

Hi, I'm Antoinette Harris, Certified Baby Doula.

My name is Antoinette, but most people call me Toni. I love being a perinatal Doula, where I get to support pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and up to a year after their baby is born, if needed. I live in Clevedon, North Somerset, and at 62 years old, I have a positive and calm outlook on life. I take pride in my high level of integrity and caring nature. I am a mother of 4 adult children and a grandmother of 2 little boys.

What is a baby doula?

Doula’s are professional birthing assistants. Traditionally they are born from women supporting women while they go through the birthing process. They are immersed into the world of birth, extensions of a birthing woman’s intuition. They will learn in detail and hold true to what a pregnant woman or couple expect and want during the process of birth. With their wisdom they will empower you and guide you through your experience, helping you to feel and stay in control. A doula will stay present providing you with the continuity you need and deserve. They will hold your space.

A doula is your advocate, ensuring that your views and wishes are expressed and understood. She /he is your gatekeeper, holding space on your behalf.

A Doula is not a Doctor, a Nurse or a Midwife. He/she is not trained to make any medical decisions. Their training does however include learning and understanding medical interventions

"I can’t recommend Toni enough.  The support and guidance she gave me throughout my pregnancy was invaluable.  With the knowledge,  relaxation skills and preparation advice she taught me I was able to enjoy the entire experience in a natural and relaxed way.  Not only is Toni very knowledgeable but her warm and nurturing nature made me feel that both myself and my baby were in very safe hands."
